Getting from the south Island to the north island is easy you have a option to fly over the straight takes I think 30 min's or you can choose to take one of our ferry's and enjoy the views (recommended) maybe if your lucky you will be able to catch a school of Dolphins swimming along with the ferry which happens lots.
